pahiyas festival 2005
as promised am gonna scan some of the pics we had during the lucban festival last may 15, 2005. i, my sis che and friend chelo went off to lucban quezon that sunday to witness how colorful and festive lucbna can be on the said date. i thought it was just a 3 hour drive from manila but a lot of people heard how they cel;brate their feast so, we had a more than 4 hour trip going there, but definitely it was worth it.
we went to ride a bus at past 7am, which was not really agood idea but, oh well....came at the said place at past 12pm, and so hot and hungry, we decided to eat at chowking and no place to sit, we end up sitting at the grass area near a church, with all the crabaos, garbage and all, and people....but, iam hungry, well we all are, and we are just bout to start walking...
it's me and chelo, notice the hats around us, what a great idea, these hats are one of their products, we end up buying one for each of us, really not because of remembrance or pasalubong, but the sun was so up and shining, i was unable to bring with me a hat to protect my scalp and face from the sun hehehe..cute aren't they???
these are my fave pics, from all of the houses, it is simple and very school like, i know, well, it is because the kids around us were the ones who designed and made these, clever right, beautiful sight indeed!
me and my sister che, her frist time in lucban and iam glad she enjoyed this as much as i did, am about to hold, the famous kiping from lucban, it is made of rice, tasty when fried...
what a filipino ingenuity, notice the bayongs....around us, so artistic and pretty sight....
striking a pose with some vegetables....it's the feast of the san isidro labrador, lucbaoenos are celebrating thanksgiving for a very good harvest...
cool pose at a cool house, love the color!
me and my look alike sis enjoying the hat, the sun, the sight, and the pose!
very pretty house with kipings all over...
see the smile...i loved every minute of the trip though how tiring it was.....am looking forward to another lucban trip if and when iam still around pinas...who knows i might bring more friends next time and share how wonderful pahiyas experience is!
